When Big Bang Broadband assists a rural municipality or utility cooperative to deploy a communications network, that network can represent the first and only communications vehicle available for broadband emergency response. Interconnection of Law Enforcement, First Responders, Public Safety Answering Points, Healthcare and Local Government is often required at much higher capacities and speeds than those of the wireless emergency networks meant to connect those in the field with command stations, such as the FirstNet nationwide wireless network built by AT&T for that purpose.
Big Bang Broadband assists its partners to address this critical need by designing prioritized portions of the networks we build to meet emerging federal guidelines so that public safety traffic comprising everything from Next Generation 911 calls (NG9-1-1) to inter-agency coordination in times of disaster have the bandwidth and responsiveness necessary to mitigate the crisis of the moment. BBB doesn’t just design and build great networks, we help to deploy the broadband applications that communities need to stay safe and thrive.
This means assisting communities to undertake their own transition to the NG9-1-1 platform, as defined in the NENA NG9-1-1 Project. Many states, counties and local municipalities are faced, however, with the dilemma of deploying these life-saving advancements in communications without sufficient broadband infrastructure to do so. BBB can help its partners to identify and apply to funding programs and implement optimization efforts to make the transition affordable.
